“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

In our daily lives, we may not be asked to lay down our lives but we can go out of our way to help people in practical ways.

How can you help girls in your community? 

1 in 5 girls experience period poverty and may even miss school due to not having what they need. Every woman understand the fear of not having menstrual products when they need them. While there are many things that make us different as females, because we are unique and wonderfully made...having a period is one thing that we share in common. This is something for us as woman to explore, the thing that connects us and how we can help each other.
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” Proverbs 19:17

"Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My history and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge." Psalm 62: 5-8 (New Living Translation)

For many of us, our days are filled with things to do, noise and a constant go go go. It takes great intentionality to "wait quietly before God".

Have you ever felt empty? Maybe you feel as if you have nothing to give and alone. I get that way when I haven't spent time with the Lord and in the Bible. It is amazing how refreshed my soul is when slow down, sit down with Him and wait. I breathe, I listen, I move into reading the holy scriptures and then I feel my heart begin to fill with newness.  

Try it. Find an app that can help you or just make space in your day to sit, listen, read and reflect. It will only do you good.

You Are Beautiful!

Let me start by saying, Don't compare yourself to other girls! You are at an age when so much is changing and I know it is easy to look around and want to be like someone else. Trust me, they feel the same way too! Be you, the beautiful you that God created you to be.

How does that look?
1. Take a look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself "You are beautiful".
2. Take care of yourself.
3. Don't let negative thoughts rest in your mind. Think on what is good and true. Philippians 4:8
4. Be kind to others and tell them they are beautiful too. Don't get caught up in putting other people down to make yourself feel better. It never works because you will end up feeling yucky inside.
5. Journal and answer these questions. What makes me unique? What do I like about myself? How can I take care of me?
6. Affirm yourself everyday!
7. Pray and thank God for making your beautiful and unique.
